A boy squatting merges with the monumental shadow of the esplanade, people walking up and down an invisible desire path; the uniformity of the vain self-expression in businessmen’s shoes on a metro. In 2017, for half a year I spent around 3 days a week in La Défense, observing and filming people and situations in this very wide agora.

Back in my studio I made a complete inventory of my footage by drawing each clip in my notebook. Thus analyzing and interpreting, I familiarized myself with the subtle and ephemeral scenarios of this public space. This series represents a selection of the archive.
